Masters degree in Reading Education K-12 at Appalachian State University (graduate in May 2016) with a current 3.81 GPA. Bachelors degree in Elementary Education K-6 at Appalachian State University and graduated with a 3.56 GPA. Track and Field Team at Appalachian State University (2010-2014).

Experience

I currently work in the reading clinic at Appalachian State University, Where I was trained to work with struggling readers. I have tutored students in reading ranging from K-6, but I am trained to work with students K-12. I also work with the athletes that are labeled "at-risk" at Appalachian State University, with these students I work either one-on-one or in a group setting. Some of the many things I help these students with are study skills, strategies to read text books or higher level books, ways to aid in the writing process as well as the editing process . I really enjoy working with students in a one-on-one setting. I like helping students master a subject that they have difficulty with and showing them techniques on how to master that difficult subject. I think one of the best things is seeing a student that I helped bring his or her grade up from a bad grade to a grade they never thought was possible and pointing out that they did that on their own. I coached high jump at Watauga High School and worked with the middle schoolers as well as the high schoolers.
